I Love My Baby

This song I actually wrote back in the late ‘70s.  More of a ditty than a song….and more about the riffs and guitar work than the lyrics, which I’m sure you can tell.  I guess the story is about a guy that falls for a hooker….a hooker that does not fall for the guy.  Whatever….it’s fun to play:-)

 

1^st VERSE

I love my baby, one time my baby.

I love my baby, but she don’t really love me.

I saw her on the street one day, and she was look'in fine.

I knew right then that somehow I'd have to make her mine.

 

          1^st CHORUS

          Went out with her Saturday night.

          Now, one time baby, it just ain’t right.

          Come on baby, won't you let me take you home.

 

2^nd VERSE

I love my baby, one time my baby.

I love my baby, but she don’t really love me.

The very next day I asked her "Baby will you marry me?"

She looked me in the eye and said "Only in your fantasies!"

 

          2^nd CHORUS

          Went out with her Saturday night.

          Now, one time baby, it just ain’t right.

          Now baby, there's no need to postpone.
